  1. Great memories. I remember that recording well. Just for the interest of your bloggers, Ardmore Studios was Irelands only film studios has been the base for many successful Irish and international productions, from The Spy Who Came in from the Cold to Braveheart, My Left Foot and Veronica Guerin. But it never had been used to record a rock band, although there were a few recording studios in Dublin at the time young Maurice insisted he wanted to record at the film studio, to this day I don't know why (he always wanted to be a film star I guess) The historic moment for this recording is that the producer of the B side I'm A Kingbee written and first recorded by Slim Harpo, the song was released in 1957, was produced by John Paul Jones who was then young bass player of a very new band Led Zeplin! But it was the Rolling Stones version that caught Boland's ear. Maurice met the late Brian Jones in Belfast whilst the Rolling Stones played the Ulster Hall and it was Jones that suggested that the band should record I'm A Kingbee. Hope your keeping well Maurice, I'm living in LA at the moment, still in music but keep my eye on your Facebook and this blog. You've always been a pioneer bringing the first mobile Disco to Ireland, then the first Club Elizabeths, then the first boutique hotel Sachs and from what I've read, English radio to Spain. Congratulations hope we can have a pint or two one day. Sláinte

  2. I've just read one of the saddest blog posting I have ever read from a poor lonely demented man who is so obsessed with you that he can't spend a day without writing about you. He knows more about you than you possibly know about yourself after reading and studying every article that has been written about you. His anger is far from that its an obsession illness he's eaten up with jealousy and hatred. He can't move on, he can't let go. He wants to believe I'm you because you refuse to be drawn into any of his rhetoric so it's a comfort to him to believe I'm you answering him, he''s even asked me to comment on his blog as he has no one else. I just now feel sorry for him , for his loneliness, for wanting so much to be a someone, thats why he believes thousands are reading his blog , loving him, following his every word, just like a child believes in an 'invisible friend' He needs help. So here's some free advice; Stop reading Maurice's Facebook and Blog and it will help you move on

  3. I know this man you refer to. I work on an English radio station and to let everyone know he is barred from calling in to most radio stations. We refer to him as the lunatic. Worth ignoring Gary.

  4. I forgot to also mention that from what I understand certain newspapers have also barred him.
