AS WE LAY OUR HEADS DOWN TO REST THIS EVENING IN THE COMFORT OF OUR HOMES WITH THE KNOWLEDGE THAT OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE SAFE, PLEASE SPARE A THOUGHT FOR THE PEOPLE OF PHILIPPINES WHO HAVE BEEN DEVASTATED BY OF ONE OF THE WORST TYPHOONS IN HISTORY:
The Biggest storm in history: 6.5 million in Vietnam brace themselves for 235mph Typhoon Haiyan as 170,000 soldiers are drafted in to reinforce homes Typhoon Haiyan was a maximum category-five storm with ground winds of up to 235mph Red Cross today estimates 1,200 people have been killed, 1,000 of those in the city of Tacloban, Leyte Bodies were seen floating in flooded streets with rescue workers saying the aftermath was similar to the 2004 Tsunami 800,000 evacuated before gales whipped up 19ft waves that battered the islands of Leyte and Samar Storm has now passed majority of the islands and is set to move inland towards Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam Hundreds of thousands of people in South East Asia have been evacuated and moved to shelters 170,000 Vietnamese soldiers are brought in as aid agencies predict 6.5 million people will be affected Disaster relief teams are now attempting to get supplies to those most affected International aid teams are being flown in to the devastated country with three UK experts arriving today UN says 2.5 million people are in need of food aid and UNICEF have estimated 1.5 million children live in affected areas YET AGAIN ISRAEL IS FIRST TO SEND AID TO THE DEVASTATED PHILIPPINES:
IsraAID has sent a team this week to assist local NGOs and UN agencies in treating hundreds of thousands of people affected by a powerful typhoon that hit the Philippines Friday. Israel is the FIRST foreign country to respond to the tragedy. The IsraAID team, supported by the AJC and Jewish communities in North America, is comprised of medical, trauma and relief professionals. The team started work primarily in Tacloban City in Leyte, according to a statement released by IsraAID Saturday.
An elderly woman is taken from her home in Danang, Vietnam, as the government begins to evacuate 100,000 people lying in the path of typhoon Haiyan. As always the Red Cross are at hand to be wherever they are needed. Please remember the Red Cross are a volunteer organisation and whenever you can please donate generously.

  1. I am sure everyone would like to do something to try and help the people following the devastating tragedy in The Philippines. Maurice Boland wants us to “PLEASE SPARE A THOUGHT FOR THE PEOPLE OF PHILIPPINES WHO HAVE BEEN DEVASTATED BY OF ONE OF THE WORST TYPHOONS IN HISTORY” and goes on to say “we can't heal the world but unlike those who do nothing we can give it a fucking good go!” So here’s your chance Maurice Boland. After all this negative publicity surrounding you in the past few years, put your mouth where your ego is and actually do something to try and redeem your lost credibility. You say you have mass support. So get these people together and get something done to help the people of the Philippines. Or is it going to be a case of rebranding “italk” to “all talk no action”.

  2. I allowed this pathetic posting on my blog simply because I could address you direct. Brian, Brain or whoever you are you're a coward and a fake and a liar hiding behind a name. You are a liar trying to make out the Fire Aid concert was in your words' negative publicity' the Only 'Negative Publicity' was from the hand full of made up names including you your sidekick Tommy , Susan etc etc you call that ALL that negative publicity. You lied about my partners on iTalk FM saying they were dissatisfied with me, they both rubbished you and made you out again to be a liar yet again. You say that the iTalk FM staff were not paid, well let me now put this straight; there is not ONE member of iTalk staff on the payroll is owed ONE Euro, if you have proof prove it. See Brian you are a liar and have no credibility. As you can not keep your beady eyes off my Facebook you will have noticed that I have been sick and needed emergency surgery and that is the only reason that iTalk FM has not yet come back yet. Now go and play with your fake names friends You are a joke !!!

    2. In that case Maurice, are you telling me you deny everything I have ever written on Tomie or Olive Press blog? My account of Fire Aid is 100% accurate, I have the proof as you well know, yet you focus on who we are and if we are fake or not? Why are you so bothered about a handful of detractors as we are collectively known? You profess to have countless supporters. So stop bothering with us and turn that support into help for the those that need it in the Philippines.

    3. You ask ‘Why are you so bothered about a handful of detractors as we are collectively known? Firstly it fascinates me is after almost 15 months you have achieved NOTHING but yet you continue to bang on at any opportunity that comes up to bad mouth me and your lucky if 2 or 3 people agree with you and out of that you arrive at the conclusion about the negativity of the nation feels against me, now that’s sad. So what is the purpose what’s is your agenda as I said it hasn’t worked you and your band of names have achieved NOTHING. Why lie all the time about your name why are you hiding behind it? What was the point of lying about my fellow directors been dissatisfied with me, but when both of them rubbished that you fled? What was the point in lying about my staff on iTalk’s payroll not been paid? Total rubbish! You will never find one person who was on the payroll prove they weren’t paid. You ask what fascinates me? In the 18 months I’ve only seen ONE of the victims who lost their home complain about Fire Aid fund raising ONE Brian???? Shortly afterwards I was visited by this persons brother in law (who was a volunteer) who told me she used to boast about not having planning permission or insurance , she stated after the fire that she was broke and had nowhere to go but yet took herself off on a 5 star cruise and had considerable wealth in the bank. So Brian, where are the other 89 victims? Not a word. Its true some of the volunteers resigned and didn’t like the forceful way I worked again dear Brian what did they number half dozen a dozen out of 75? This concert was put together in 7 days tempers were fraught and sleep and rest were at a premium and yes possibly my temper let fly a few times but we achieved the main objective and that’s all I cared for. You say I charge for my Charity work lies again Brian!! NEVER in the 25 years have I ever charged a euro not even for personal expenses. So where did this come from? Looking forward to hearing this one. Finally you say your account of Fire Aid is 100% accurate ,and that you have the proof as you well know’ Proof of what?, email it to me the maurice@italkfm.com I will answer it. So Brian what is your objective? Is it you want to be known as the Masked Crusader? Is it, as someone wrote, you want to be recognised as the people’s champion. I will meet you any time and go over the whole Fire Aid Concert with you from day one too day seven. I forgot if you did meet me you’d have to come out of hiding and then we would all know who you are so I suppose that wouldn’t work, but I have an idea you or anyone can call me on my number 646 247 996 and continue to use another fake name, say Martyn or Tommy, Susan wouldn’t work anyway I’ll bee happy to answer any questions.

    4. I interviewed twenty of your volunteers and their version is very different than yours. You did not achieve your objective because the money did not go to those who lost their homes as you advertised. Your personal objectives obviously something entirely different. If you have such great support why is no one running to rally around you? Not one? And I never said you took money from charities. And four of your ex presenters told me you owed them money. And please don't get me started on why the hotel kicked you and your radio station out. But it's all talk isn't it. You want to help the people of the Philippines don't wait for someone else to do it for you. For once do it yourself and let you be judged on that.

    5. You interviewed 20 out of 75 volunteers and they said they weren’t satisfied, big deal what you’re saying 55 others were happy then? You say you know four of my staff who were on the payroll claim they were owed money, NAME THEM . I never claimed I had such great support, but as a person who spends so much of your time reading my Facebook you might have witnessed over 150 posts of congratulations on the Red Cross award that’s excluding many emails and phone calls, that’s pretty impressive support, no? Sort of overshadows you and your mate’s criticism, I think that speaks for itself. Anyway Brian looking forward to the lists of the staff that are owed money.

    6. Did you or did you not authorise the publication of press releases before the fire aid concert stating the money raised was specifically for those that lost their homes and after the concert authorise press releases that stated is was actually changed to specifically help those areas affected by the fires. Yes or No?

      Delete
    7. As the first meeting of the volunteers took place on the Monday 7 days before the concert the press release was agreed and sent to the newspapers who were to publish on the Thursday and Friday, but after the Wednesday final agreement with the Red Cross to open a bank account especially dedicated for Fire Aid and that money raised would be allocated into the areas affected by the fires We immediately put out this message to all radio stations and changed our Facebook as it was too late to stop the press and that is why it was made clear on the evening by myself and the director of Red Cross as our opening speeches at the concert. The message was load and clear. I emphasised the point very clearly. Not one person asked for their money back not one person as far as I’m aware among the 1,000 strong audience complained. As far as the volunteers are concerned I hardly knew any of them and certainly don’t have their contact details anymore. What is odd I don’t remember 20, 30 40 o dissatisfied volunteers mouthing off in the press. Now down to your claim that you know 4 of the iTalk presenters who were on the payroll that weren't paid. This is a very serious charge that you made public NAME THEM and I hope if you do you’ll have proof of this claim.

    8. So you avoid answering the question. It required a simple yes or no. Telling people once they've spent their money sat in front of you on the evening of a show is too late for them to make a choice. The real point is, whatever your intentions the public were not actually aware before the evening of the show that the money was to go elsewhere than originally publicised, correct?

      Delete
    9. Firstly Brian do not dictate to me how or how not to answer a question, the question you asked me was as not as simple as yes or no!! Let’s just go back to the question for a moment; did I notify the public about the change? The earliest time I had to start notifying the public of The Red Crosses decision was from the Thursday morning with only days left before the concert, by that time, as I said, the press had gone to bed (EWN already published in fact I can’t remember but I don’t think they published any advertising for the event) An Important point ALL the senior member volunteers were part of this decision, if they want to change that story now NAME THEM I’ll handle that!!! The main push all along came from iTalk FM and from that Thursday morning became my only real opportunity to notify the change as was the Facebook that was changed immediately (as a matter of interest one of the senior volunteers whose job was to update the Facebook, removed it days after the concert saying it wasn’t necessary anymore at the time I went along with that, but in reflection it was an odd thing from him to do) So my decision was to stop the concert or allow it to go ahead and support Red Cross rightly or wrongly again along with the senior volunteers (team leaders) we made the decision to proceed, a lot of hard work by the volunteers had already gone in as did the musicians, video production etc etc. All adverts for radio were changed, Facebook Changed, Website Changed all six days from the concert. The ticket sales thankfully were negligible on the Thursday morning , the main sales took place from Iceland stores on Friday evening, Saturday and Monday all day. You are probably ignorant of that facts on the law of staging charity fund raising event, one can NOT run a charity event unless you are a registered charity or you have an IVA number, put the money through a personal bank account and pay tax on it and then and only then decide who should and who shouldn’t receive a carve up of the funds, would it just go to the English, or the Spanish who either lost or partly lost their homes the number was approx 90? I have NEVER handled funds from a charity event even Cudeca events, Cudeca agents are always on the door, or the Telethon Cudeca are in the studio taking credit card numbers on their machines. Could you imagine if all the 18,000 went into MY bank and then I would have to make up MY mind who gets what whose homes were worst hit etc etc I would have been slaughtered and that Is why I always avoid these situations.
Now back to MY simple questions to you. NAME THE STAFF ON iTalk’s PAYROLL THAT HAVEN’T BEEN PAID this is a very serious charge by you and I don’t want loose gossip I want proof as you should have had before taking it into the public domain.
Second question you avoided to answer; what is the purpose of your agenda? What sticks out like a sore thumb any time my name is mentioned in the Olive Press you’re on it like a vulture. The names that follow very shortly all have something in common with you : They Don’t appear in ANY other stories in the paper no matter how serious i.e , boy looses eye, corrupt politicians, English home demolished etc but the name Boland gets you and your merry band to put pen to paper...Do you think the public is that stupid? If , like you I send 12 different comments into the Olive Press all under fake names they would be published. Job done!!!

    10. Thank you for the long explanation. The fact remains that the majority of the public who purchased tickets (I am told it was 790 tickets sold not the exaggerated figure of 1000) did not know about this change of wording as to where the money was going until the start of the show and not before. This is correct, yes?
You believe I stand alone. You are very wrong. I interviewed 20 of your volunteers and all 20, that’s 100% stated that they were very dissatisfied that the funds did not go in some why to help those who lost their homes. Not one person said they were happy. So of your 70+ volunteers, 25% said they were dissatisfied. I gave up speaking to your volunteers after that as I had the same version from them all and as I have since published. On the other hand you don’t have any of those volunteers who will stand up and support your version of events. Well, you have two, Nicole King, who was an employee and Myra Azzopardi who professed to be one of the main organisers of the event, but only 2 of those I interviewed had even heard of her, the rest saying she was a translator and not really involved in the actual event. So give me the names of 5 people who will support your version of events. We can then move on to your other questions.
You can also tell us what you plans are to help those in the Philippines? I assume you have something well under way by now with all your supporters.

    11. Firstly let me make one thing clear from now on if you want to continue this dialoge we shall do it only by email. Reason being these posts on my blog are being copy and pasted onto TJ’s blog, as you know I got very close to taking action against this man after he published some very liable postings dangerously naming people and places that were false and liable. If I proceeded it would have ended him in jail before any trial. After seeing his Facebook was closed down, I decided not proceed, however, lately he has again made very serious mistakes naming innocent persons etc and this very morning I believe he mentioned names two presenters he claimed were owed money this is TOTALLY false in fact both were volunteers one in return for publicity for her business and the other was even paid money that we had no obligation to pay as a goodwill gesture (we have all this in writing). I am now considering re opening the case. Now down to your last post: In your own nasty way you point out that you were told it was 790 tickets sold not the exaggerated figure of 1000 this is possibly true no one or nowhere to my knowledge EVER claimed we SOLD 1,000 tickets, what I do know that over 900+ chairs (I know as I along with a few volunteers helped set them out) were set out that were quickly filled and there had to be between 50 and a hundred standing, so stop trying to make out we were lying AGAIN! You asked: did the majority of the public who purchased tickets know about this change of wording as to where the money was going until the start of the show and not before. Well how the hell do I know do you think I stood at the door with a sandwich board with the words on it, what I do know it was clear on the radio, on the website etc days before the show and was made clear at the begging of the show, where else would you have suggested??? I have also contacted volunteers who will confirm their satisfaction with the outcome of the Fire Aid Concert and I have just hunted down emails which include press releases etc again days before the show all stating where the Red Cross money is going to be spent including an email from all the team leaders sent day AFTER the concert stressing : That the FAC team leaders are satisfied with the delivery of funds to the chosen charity, the Red Cross, specifically for the Malaga Province and for the funds to be focussed as per the specific Red Cross wording supplied by them. Again you can have copies when you email me. Now let me help you here , to continue to hide your Identity you can open up a hotmail account under any name let me suggest Jake Goode perhaps..And you can send me the names you say who you claim are owed money etc. and I will send you all the information you require that will end all your speculation and you can then get on with your life I await your response maurice@italkfdm.com
