US President Barak Obama along with British Prime Minister David Cameron, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and virtually every other Western leader has wished Jews a happy new year as Rosh Hashana approaches on Sunday.
Now we can add a surprise guest to that list - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.(above)
On his Twitter feed on Sunday, Rouhani posted a notice celebrating the common ancestry of Jews and Muslims.
"May our shared Abrahamic roots deepen respect and bring peace and mutual understanding," Rouhani tweeted. "L'Shanah Tovah."
A big thank you to the hundreds of greetings I have been receiving this evening.
