MANDY SMITH

I was just sent this video from a German who reminded me that he always drove us around when we visited Germany. I remember this show as if it was yesterday. The host Thomas Gottschalk, who was and probably still is Germany's biggest and most famous TV star. The show was "Na sowas!" The year was 1986. Mandy was huge in Germany as it was the first European country I attacked into making her a world wide star and her records where flying up the charts. . As most of her fans know, Mandy did become famous world wide including America when I negotiated a deal for a four page spread in Vanity Fair.

After this show I ended up at a wonderful party thrown by Chris de Burgh at his hotel. Mandy decided to go off to bed as she was tired after a long day of photos, autograph signing in record stores and the TV show in Germany. I was ready to party

After flying back to UK Mandy was invited to be photographed by the world famous photographer Bob Carlos Clark, out of this photo shoot came my favorite photograph of Mandy. Like the video above she was dressed by the amazing Vivian Westwood, who herself went on to become a world famous designer.



Are time together was so intense it was bound to end in unhappiness and it did . We finally broke up.

I went onto launch my on radio Show and TV shows etc in the early '90s. I had a booking agent in London who handled all my UK guests for my weekly TV shows and was surprised when he called to tell me my guest list for the following week, included was Mandy Smith! I was so excited but very apprehensive as are break up wasn't what I would describe as friendly and as we hadn't seen or spoken to each other for years. But that was soon forgotten when she flew in we just hugged and laughed, we were both happy to see each other again, in fact so important did Hello! Magazine feel this meeting up again with myself and Mandy they did a 4 page spread......


We didn't see much of each other after that until I launched Hi! Magazine in Manchester her stunning sister Nicola became my UK PA and handled the amazing launch party for the magazine in one of Manchester celebrity hangouts and who should turn up but Mandy, She looked amazing. We sat and spoke for most of the evening and I ended up giving her a job writing my beauty page. We both were staying in the same hotel.
One of the celebrity guest who turned up was David Beckham and here we are looking like twins joint at the hip. OK! OK!! if your confused that's me on the right....

I was delighted to have been invited on RTE 1 LiveLine Show hosted by Joe Duffy. I think it would be hard to count the number of serious crimes annually on one hand!!! Thankfully The Costa del Sol lost the tag Costa Del Crime many years ago and rightfully so

I couldn't believe how many texts my phone received seconds after I came off air. My phone lit up like a Christmas tree. I was amazed. The question put to me by a very well know UK radio and TV personality who I know very well and who's is known here on the Costa who called me as he heard the Joe Duffy interview whilst in Dublin and asked me 'Do I miss broadcasting?' without hesitation I replied 'Bet your life I do!' Would I go back to it? There would need to be a very substantial offer to tempt me away from the world I now love in Real Estate I for sure there isn't a radio station on the costa that would have that sort of money to pay me. On the other hand, 2 years ago if you told me I would have had the successes I've enjoyed in real estate I would have laughed. So I suppose my answer to whether I would return to the airways has to be 'Who knows'

Berlin Germany: The Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) has allocated funds in the millions to anti-Israel NGOs linked to terrorism and working in support of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel. a bill will be introduced a motion supported by 41 lawmakers from across the political spectrum calling on the FDFA to stop all direct or indirect funding to organizations that sponsor “racist and anti-Semitic actions” or are involved in BDS campaigns.

The move could bring about a sea change in Swiss funding for scores of anti-Israel NGOs operating in Israel and in the disputed territories.

Additional Swiss funding goes to Islamic Relief Worldwide,” he continued. “Earlier this year, HSBC cut all ties to this NGO due to concerns about its involvement in terrorism. Israel declared IRW a terrorist-supporting entity in 2014, citing funding to Hamas. The Swiss government must now review this funding.”

The article alleged that the FDFA funneled the equivalent of nearly $182,000 to the IRW last year. It also noted that Swiss funds had been sent directly or indirectly to 44 NGOs that “are opposed to negotiations with Israel and peace, and work for a boycott of Israeli products.”

The anti-Israel organization Badil was cited as a recipient of Swiss funds. Badil rejects “with words and pictures the existence of Israel, and this contradicts official Swiss foreign policy,” the article said.

THE EARTH QUACK THAT DEVASTATED HAITI.

On the 12th January 2010 an earthquake hit the island of Haiti, it was a catastrophic magnitude 7.0 Mw earthquake, 16 miles west of Port-au-Prince, Haiti's capital.

By 24 January, at least 52 aftershocks measuring 4.5 or greater had been recorded. An estimated three million people were affected by the quake. Death toll estimated by Haitian government figures from 220,000 to 316,000. The government of Haiti estimated that 250,000 residences and 30,000 commercial buildings had collapsed or were severely damaged.

For what ever reason I was touched by this earth quack and immediately put into action a fundraising event which would be a gala evening at the La Quinta Golf 5 star hotel and for the first time in Spain a charity record in English.

A few months prior to the earth quack the singer Stephen Lloyd Morgan appeared live on my radio show sing a duet of the Prayer. I was so taken by his adaptation of it I chose that song to be the Prayer For Haiti

On a cold wet Sunday morning in January I met up with Stephen Lloyd Morgan and a gathering of some of the best known artists on the Costa to lay down the initial tracks for the song. Brian Hayward Sound Engineering were on hand to make the final mix.

It was an exciting day for us all as this had never been done before and with the stunning performances by Stephen Lloyd Morgan TV´s X Factor super star finalist Rowetta, who i persuaded to lay her part down in a studio in Manchester. WOW factor finalist Becky Tate, The incredible Mayte. The Unity Gospel Singers, Daniel Boland and Tres Divos contributing.
It was all done in a day and a few days later I attended the studio to listen to the final mix. We were all moved to tears. It is something I shall never forget and be proud of for the rest of my life.

WHAT A NIGHT!. I shall never forget it. We ended up raising over 30,000 € for the Children of Haiti and many more thousands from the royalty paid from the record sales. Every penny was sent direct to the Ark Christian Fellowship who have a base in Haiti. NOT a penny was removed for expenses..

Accusing Rebecca Loos of having a fling with a married man, good coming from Miz Osborne who admitted running of with Ozzie who was married with children!!!

Mel Gibson surprised the world Jewry by turning up in one of the oldest and most beautiful historic Jewish centers in the world today.

Gibson renowned for his anti Semitic views seemed to have turned over a new leaf as he personally requested to visit the Alhambra Jewish center. For centuries the city of Granada had a large Jewish population. Thriving right up until 1492 when the Catholic Kings came to power. Unfortunately no synagogue remains in Granada (as in they do in other Spanish cities) however in January 2014 a new Sephardic Museum was opened. El Palacio de los Olvidados. It is close to the Plaza Nueva, in a side street called Cuesta San Inés. His visit includes a tour around the museum and gives the visitor an interesting insight into Granada´s Jewish history.

He looked relaxed and happy to be among the public and the tour which was led by a Rabbi. Afterward the Rabbi and his entourage were seeing retiring into a private room for more intimate talks on the history of the Jews in Spain.

Portugal adopted a similar citizenship path for Sephardic Jews to make amends for its 1496 decision giving Jews 10 months to convert or leave.
The Portuguese citizenship application process does not require applicants to take language or culture tests or prove a modern-day link to the country.

We finally got a rare glimpse of the embattled Gaza Strip and a chance to see what life was like under the rule of Hamas. When the post-Mubarak government of Egypt decided to start letting small numbers of folks into Gaza through their Rafah Crossing, we knew we could finally enter the region.

And Mr Khan said he wanted to “send a message around the world” by being a Muslim mayor “who does more to protect Jewish Londoners from antisemitism than any mayor ever has before”.

On his opposition to boycotts, he said: “The evidence clearly shows that boycott, sanctions and divestment against Israel do not help us achieve peace – we must not turn our face against Israel.
“As the boycotts of Sodastream International showed, boycotts only hurt working people and do nothing to build a lasting peace in the region.”

ANOTHER REASON THAT MADE ME RETHINK MY PAST JUDGMENT ON THE NEW LONDON MAYOR. HE DOESN'T LIKE JEREMY CORBYN.

Mr Khan’s campaign team was at pains to point out he did not actually vote for Mr Corbyn in the leadership contest itself – he instead voted for Andy Burnham. But the association is unlikely to go away.
In a later interview with the Mail on Sunday, Mr Khan admitted Labour had to move away from its " unacceptable anti-Jewish" image.
He also repeated his concern expressed to the JC about the correlation of violence in the Middle East and the spiral of antisemitism in Britain.
Mr Khan is also backed by Mr Livingstone – another potential millstone around his neck whenever he meets Jewish voters. Again the mayoral contender was robust when asked about his predecessor.
“I want to reassure you I’m not like the last guy, I’m not going to be like previous Labour politicians,” he said. “For me it’s a source of sorrow that people who historically voted Labour are now not voting Labour.”

Three times this summer Mr Khan began his Ramadan fast at synagogues, discussing with rabbis ways to make London a beacon for interfaith efforts. He also cited his past work with Mitzvah Day, Emeritus Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks and Jewish Labour peer Lord Mitchell as examples for the future.
Khan has also been the target of Islamist death threats because of his liberal social views, particularly his support of same-sex marriage.


Now one might understand why I made a reassessment of my views made only a few days ago about Sadiq Khan and after reading many statements he has made in that short period of time I have for obvious reasons decided to support him 100% I also have learnt to understand why SCUM like George Galloway is NO supporter of of Sadiq Khan and I suppose you who are true to yourself and are anti Israel, will do the same as your hero Galloway has done and turn your backs on Khan remembering he is against boycotting Israeli and in favor of London cooperating with Israel . MY MASTER PLAN FOR PEACE

Here’s an idea I’ve come up with towards a peaceful solution to the Israeli Palestinian conflicted. Yes, it might be much too farfetched and I’m sure it’s full of holes but at least I’m trying to work out some positive solution rather than spending my days being negative.
Let me start of with reversing the situation. I’ve often thought what it would have been like if the Jews settled in Gaza and the Arabs controlled Israel. After seeing what they did to the barren land they inherited when arriving in 1948 I feel confident that they would have developed Gaza into one of the words finest tourist resorts and its with that in mind I’ve come up with my master plan for peace

Some facts to deal with: Gaza’s gross domestic product is approx $800 million on top of that millions of dollars to fund attacks on Israel come from sympathetic donors like Iran, Turkey and Qatar. Remember in 2014 the Emir of Qatar visited Gaza and handed Hamas $400 million towards development of a two housing complexes, rehabilitate the building of three main roads and the building of a major hospital surprise, surprise non of this ever happened. The truth is if all this money was spent on their own people Gaza would be a far better place for its citizens. Hamas spends $100’s of millions of aid money building their murderess tunnels, Yes 100’s million dollars per annum add to that the millions spent on rockets, the tons of building material delivered from Israel etc and you have enough to build schools, hospitals, homes, roads etc!!.

So now to my plan. Hamas call a truce with Israel and set up a series of meeting to propose a plan that I feel sure would lead to peace. The terrorist agree, like the IRA did in the past with Great Britton, , to decommission all their arms, they also agree to stop using foreign aid to build their tunnels and purchasing rockets etc instead using the billions of dollars to help develop their country, in return with huge financial help from all the Arab countries and from Israel to help make Gaza into one of the worlds tourist hotspots, to fund a railway line from Ben-Gurion International Airport in Israel to Gaza, (45 miles) and whilst this agreement is being implemented to start talking peace and solutions.

Not only will my plan mean a new booming tourist economy in Gaza it would be so lucrative for the millions who work or need work. Their would be a huge upsurgents in foreign buyers, Brits, Germans Irish etc looking for bargain beachfront holiday apartments starting at very low prices to encourage investment etc would mean a boom in the building trade. back and forth from the new train station, restaurants opening all over Gaza. It wouldn't be long before Gaza could report a 100% employment...

This is what Israel built on their beaches , now with the financial help from oil rich Arab countries this is what I believe Gaza could look like.


Okay its only an idea and yes possibly an impossible dream but have any of you got a better idea that has a dogs chance in working.
