 BBC Exposes Phony Palestinian Claims of Israeli Aggression

The BBC has never been the most friendly or even unbiased of international media outlets when it comes to the Jewish state. So it was surprising for some when the BBC on Tuesday led the charge in exposing phony Palestinian claims of Israeli violence.

Every major escalation in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is accompanied by a campaign on sites like Facebook and Twitter to make the Jewish state look as hostile and bloodthirsty as possible.

The most effective way of achieving this goal is to post photographs purportedly showing innocent Palestinians wounded, maimed and killed or buildings destroyed in Israeli military operations.

More often than not, these photographs are false, as they either depict a different flare-up than the current one or were taken somewhere else entirely.

And this time, the BBC is calling them out.

“Over the past week the hashtag #GazaUnderAttack has been used hundreds of thousands of times, often to distribute pictures claiming to show the effects the [Israeli] airstrikes,” as reported by the BBC.

“Some of the images are of the current situation in Gaza, but a #BBCtrending analysis has found that some date as far back as 2009 and others are from conflicts in Syria and Iraq.”

One girl who tweeted an incorrect image justified doing so to the BBC, explaining that she “didn’t mean it to be taken as a literal account,” but rather as an illustration of what it must be like for Palestinians living in areas where Israel is bombing terrorist targets
